Holiday Facilitators: Julia Hollenbery

skill, experience, warmth

Biography

Julia Paulette Hollenbery is a fun and engaging teacher and author of the highly recommended book, 'The Healing Power of Pleasure: Seven Medicines for Rediscovering the Innate Joy of Being'. She's currently writing her second book, 'Trust Yourself' and teaches for Alternatives, MindBodySpirit, ConsciousCafe, The Sexuality Festival, and other wellbeing organisations. She loves to share her love of the mystery, real sensual relationships and the life of the body.

Julia is passionate about helping people embrace the joy of life, by tuning into the wisdom of their own body. As a healer, she draws on her formal qualifications, personal journey, and knowledge gained working with clients. She blends Grinberg Bodywork, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and Constellations with her expertise in a wide range of spiritual traditions including Sufism, Shamanism, Tantra, Kabbalah, Gurdjieff work and Inquiry.

Julia’s unique capacity is to see people in a way they have probably never been seen before, profoundly with acceptance and love. She brings to every interaction an extraordinary quality of attunement and a deep, innate wisdom for practical healing and wholeness. She guides people to envision and embody their own unique potential.

She lives in London with her boyfriend and her teenage daughter. She loves to dance wildly, kickbox and spend time on the beach.

What people say about Julia and her courses:

- "A rare opportunity to more fully explore how I put limits upon my ability to explore giving and receiving pleasure. A very worthwhile experiential course".

- "I’ve gained pleasureable intimacy and relationship with myself. De-stressed my relationship with others".

- "I’ve enjoyed the range of embodied practices, and working with others in the group. It’s been at the right pace to allow the exercises to begin to integrate. I’m feeling more embodied and look forward to taking away what I’ve learnt into my life - with a focus on more embodied joy and pleasure. Thank you".

- "From the start I felt a sense of complete safety and calmness in the space - that stayed with me through out the entire session. I feel grateful to have connected with myself through the sensation/meditative/communication/movement exercises. I feel empowered to continue practicing with these new tools. Thank you Julia!"

Travel

To travel to Skyros Island you must go to Athens. We have organised transfers from Athens (detailed below) to take the stress out of your journey.

Domestic Travel (Athens – Skyros, return)

Flights to Skyros island are limited so we recommend booking as soon as possible with Aegean Airlines. For this session we recommend –

  • OUT: Departing Athens on the 8th September at 2.35pm, arriving to Skyros at 3.15pm
  • RETURN: Departing Skyros on 15th September at 3.35pm, arriving to Athens at 4.20pm

If the flight to Skyros sells out for these dates we will organise an overland transfer.

International Travel (to/from Athens)

  • OUT: Arrive to Athens Airport on or before 12.35pm on the 8th September in time to catch the connecting flight to Skyros. Many choose to arrive the day before (on the 7th September) for a more relaxed journey.

For those arriving in Athens on the 7th September we have an organised transfer including an overnight stay in Central Athens. If many arrive into Athens at a similar time we will arrange a courtesy coach (minimum numbers required) departing Athens Airport to the hotel where you can relax and meet others joining the session. The following day the bus will return to Athens Airport in time for the flight to Skyros. To join this transfer, select Single/Twin Share at the Dorian, Transfer to Athens Airport & Transfer to Atsitsa when booking.

For those arriving in Athens on the 8th September you will only require a transfer from Skyros Airport to Atsitsa. To secure this please select Transfer from Skyros Airport to Atsitsa only when booking.
