Working with Skyros Holidays in Greece 2019

Are you a sociable, flexible, team player who enjoys looking after people and not afraid of a bit of hard work? Do you want to work in a beautiful environment (that can also get quite hot)? How about spending a season with us on Skyros island, looking after our holiday participants and getting to know a beautiful Greek island.

You may have already been on one of our wonderful holidays and noticed the people working behind the scenes. It may have appealed to you. Or you might have thought of someone who it might suit.

We have administrative roles available to join our established team – these are key to the smooth running of our centres.

Administrative Roles in Atsitsa:

You will be joining an established Manager to work as part of our Admin Team.

Office Manager 2/Transfer Administrator – You will support the manager in covering the general running of the office. You need a good eye for detail and logic, and enjoy managing lists. You are responsible for producing correct lists for travel and accommodation between Athens and Skyros, making the correct bookings, and coordinating between our centres. You will also make arrangements for on island excursions. You need to be able to make clear announcements. You will also take a key role in going to teachers' meetings and organising teachers' needs.

Housekeeper – overseeing the team responsible for cleaning, laundry, assisting in the kitchen, and general daily work. You need to manage the practical changeover between groups. You need a good eye for quality control and the comfort of participants. Being an empowering team leader is essential.

Bar Manager – to run our small bar and shop. You need to have bar experience, including making cocktails and good coffee. You must understand the till/cashing up and keeping accounts. Also be responsible for stock control, orders and delivery. You need an open and fun personality, and a high level of integrity and responsibility.

Administrative Roles at the Skyros Centre:

Second Administrator – In the smaller community of the Skyros Centre you need to be empathic and flexible in order to take good care of our participants. Speaking some Greek, or being willing to learn, is good in the Greek village environment. You also need to be willing to collaborate in a small team.

All administrators fully participate in the admin team, and take turns as Duty Manager. A clean driving licence, first-aid certificate or Greek language skills are a bonus.

Work Scholar Roles in Atsitsa:

Work Scholars – Most of the work is cleaning, laundry, kitchen help, clearing away and maintaining the site.  It can be very demanding work over sustained periods of time and in the heat of Greece! You need to be physically fit and have stamina to cope with working long shifts in hot weather.  Having said this, it is great fun, a superb experience and full training is given.  It is quite a different experience from working in a regular holiday environment.

Jobs are available from mid-June through to the end of September. Twin shared accommodation, meals and spending money are provided.

All general resort workers receive a modest weekly income. Skyros Holidays also offers the opportunity to attend courses with world-class facilitators in a wide variety of courses – that is the ‘scholar’ part. You would need to cover your own travel costs. Administrators get a higher income and return flights paid if you complete your contract, but do not attend courses.

Handyman in Atsitsa:

We need an enthusiastic general handyman for the season. Some plumbing, carpentry and possibly electrical skills are a bonus. A positive, friendly outlook is important as well as a strong sense of responsibility.

To apply please email an introductor letter explaining why you would like to join Skyros together with your CV to
