Art Courses

Explore your creativity in beautiful surroundings

At Skyros, art is part of the wider holiday experience: time to slow down, look closely, make something with your hands, and be inspired by the landscape around you.

Our art courses take place in beautiful settings, from the pine-forested coast of Atsitsa Bay to creative weekends at The Grange by the Sea. Depending on the programme, you may be painting, sketching, working with watercolours, making mosaics, exploring photography, or simply rediscovering the pleasure of creative practice.

Courses are led by experienced facilitators and are suitable for all levels. Beginners are warmly supported, while more experienced artists have space to deepen their work, try new approaches and respond to the surrounding landscape.

At Atsitsa Bay, the natural beauty of Skyros – the sea, pine trees, rocks, light and open-air spaces – offers rich inspiration. At The Grange, the gardens, house and coastal setting create a different but equally nourishing creative atmosphere.

Materials are usually provided, though participants are welcome to bring favourite tools such as sketchbooks, pencils, paints or brushes. For outdoor sessions, we recommend practical clothing, sturdy shoes, a hat and plenty of sunscreen.

Whether you come to learn new techniques, revive an old creative interest or simply enjoy making art in good company, Skyros offers a supportive space to explore, experiment and create.

As The Telegraph’s Sophie Butler put it: “The best arts and crafts holidays. For creative courses abroad, consider one of the centres offered by Skyros.”
