If you are taking our transfer: Book your return flight to arrive in Bangkok the day before the holiday begins and fly home the day after it ends. You should aim to arrive in Bangkok before 4pm, and can take a metered taxi to the Sofitel Silom for roughly £6.00, to join the rest of the group. Return flights can depart any time on the day after the holiday.
If travelling to and from Koh Samed independently: You will need to meet the rest of the group on Koh Samed on the first day of the holiday. Your return flight needs to leave Bangkok no earlier than late evening on the last day of the session. We recommend spending the night in Bangkok and travelling the day after.
Transfer to the Island
Skyros offers a transfer from Bangkok to Koh Chang for £175.00 which includes two nights shared accommodation (one before the holiday and one on the last day of the holiday) at the 5-star Sofitel Silom in Bangkok, and coach and ferry transport to and from Koh Samed. Single upgrades at the hotel are available at £55 per night. In this fascinating city there will be an excursion to one of its cultural highlights and also a chance to experience the city's colourful nightlife as an optional extra.
Independent travel
You may prefer to make your own way to Koh Samed. You can do this in one of two ways:
Taxi: Order a reputable taxi from a hotel concierge. A taxi from Bangkok to the port of Ban Phe (a journey of 3 hours) will cost 3500-4000 Baht. You can also get a taxi from Suwanabhimi Airport to Ban Phe (The Airport is en route to Ban Phe and cuts an hour off the journey) for 2500 Baht. Bear in mind that ferries from Ban Phe to Koh Samed stop in the early evening.
Bus and ferry: Take a bus from Bangkok Ekamai Eastern Bus Terminal to Ban Phe. You will need to book your seat. Buses run hourly. The journey will take roughly 4 hours depending on traffic. From the bus station it is a 5 minute walk to the pier.
