With playfulness we'll explore, in a lighthearted manner, with pieces of string, with massage, with a partner, our love for - or hate of - boundaries, our desire for connection with others, our thoughts about relationships, and above all our deep need to be respectful to ourselves. We'll discover that we know a lot - if only we listen to our body - and we'll rediscover the joyous part of ourselves, hopeful, passionate and very much alive!

We are all born with the freedom to dance. This freedom is innate but can go underground, obscured by the ‘stuff’ of life. During this course we will learn to listen to our body, and to surrender bit by bit to its unique dance. We will dance to gently wake up to our creativity, to love power, ecstasy, acceptance, playfulness and sensuality. We will discover our body loves to dance and find ourselves making moves we never knew we could make.
There will also be space to share our experiences and stories in words so that we can both learn from, and be touched by each other. No previous dance experience is required, just a courage and willingness to practice stepping onto the dance floor and moving with who we are, and how we are, moment to moment.
Meditation (additional activity)
We will welcome our body, breath and feelings into the day with guided, mindfulness based movement and meditation. Each day we will learn how to listen a little more deeply to what is happening for us, and to practice welcoming our experience with kindness.

The Power of Laughter Sat 20 - Sat 27 Jul 2013 AT5
This is a comedy course with a twist. On the one hand a comedy workshop that allows us to explore comedy improvisation, clowning, sketch-comedy and stand-up; on the other hand a journey of personal development. Not only will we play, laugh and have plenty of fun as we explore the comedian’s craft - we will also use our experiences to strengthen our inner sense of humour. This “sixth sense” is a key feature of high emotional intelligence and a great resource that can help us in social situations, in the arena of public speaking and in remaining sane as we ride the ups and downs of life and seek psychological balance.

Everyone can take great pictures every time after this fun Skyros course.

Tom Morley's approach to music starts with the body. First the heart, then we journey out from there. Why the heart? Because whatever race or creed we are we all spend nine months in our mother's womb feeling 'at home' next to her heartbeat.
As a kit drummer with Scritti Politti, and later as a session drummer for the London/New York music scene Tom learned all he needed to know about popular song structure before immersing himself in World Harmony songs. So Tom's sessions tend to be an inspiring mix of upbeat 'get it right' 3-part harmony songs, ranging from African to Gospel to Polynesian, to looser improvisational exercises where everyone can make mistakes and discover things about themselves and each other.
Basically Tom is a community builder and music is his main tool. Humour always helps, so expect a fair amount of warm-up laughter in all the sessions. Beginners are more than welcome, and musicians will be happy with the raw sophistication of the material. Think of it as joining a band where you'll have a chance to be the frontperson or a member of the backing band, depending what you feel like on that particular day. Yes, developing any new skill takes courage, vulnerability and discipline but you won't find many safer, or amusing, places to learn about singing than in one of Tom's sessions.

Painting By the time we reach adulthood, most of us have lost confidence in our natural birthright as artists. We have been convinced that draughtsmanship is to do with ‘getting it right’, and have had repeated experiences of ‘getting it wrong’. In fact, drawing is a basic form of literacy which anyone who can see and hold a pencil can acquire – quickly. Creativity, in drawing as in life, has little to do with talent or superficial competence and much to do with getting comfortable with mess, play, exploration and process.
This course will explore drawing as a form of creative play; as a means of learning to see more clearly; as a way of sitting mindfully in the present moment; and as a way of increasing our appreciation of our surroundings. In addition it will equip participants with a set of skills that will allow them to practise and progress independently. In the process participants – including those who have always believed they cannot draw – will develop a more adventurous and confident relationship with their artistic skills, and discover drawing as a doorway to mindfulness, clarity, passion and inspiration. Sketchbooks and drawing materials will be provided, although you are welcome to bring your own.

She is a trained psychotherapist with a particular interest in mindfulness-based psychotherapies currently researching the links between manual creativity and wellbeing.

Sex and Sexuality Sat 31 Aug - Fri 13 Sep 2013 AT9
Carol aims to keep her teaching light while offering food for thought. Starting with a refresher in sex education, we will explore the how, what, when and why of sex. We will share our thoughts about the subtle and delicate nature of desire and the passion-killers that can thwart it. We will talk about the development of our sexuality, which starts at birth and transforms throughout the different stages of our lives, forming our differing sexual styles. How do we make sense of the constant messages about sex from the media and the internet? What is the future of sex and gender roles in our society? We will discuss these topics and more in an open and confidential ambience with positivity and humour.
Carol is a couples and sex therapist with 25 years’ experience. She is a Fellow of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and author of “Good Sex Bad Sex No Sex”, which was published online in May 2012 by Endeavour. Mindful Living
Mindful living is an exploration of the practice of present-moment awareness, kindness and whole-hearted living. It is a simple path to our core self, the place of inner wisdom, wellbeing and happiness. It also provides tools for recognizing and reducing unhealthy stress and for becoming aware of our habits of thought and action, which keep us stuck. This awareness is the first step toward self-transformation. Putting these skills into practice takes focus, will, intent and discipline. Paying attention to our bodies, thoughts, feelings, and how we express ourselves, in a kind hearted friendly way, is the key to release us from our attachments and blocks. The course combines western psychology with the wisdom of the East.

A relaxed body and a free imagination are the keys to ‘seducing’ your audience when public speaking, whether you are making a speech, performing in a play, reciting a poem, or delivering a presentation. Approximately 70% of human communication is conveyed by the body, 20% by the musicality of the voice, and only 10% by the meaning of the chosen words. Combining these 3 agencies effectively and seamlessly is the special skill of the charismatic and influential speaker.
This series of workshops is designed to develop the relationship between the voice, body and imagination in order to increase the impact of the participants’ spoken word on their audiences. As the workshops progress you will discover how releasing tension, utilizing natural impulses, accessing imagery and developing a sense of playfulness can release your most truthful voice - one that will make listeners sit up and take notice!.
